Datalystica at IAC 2026

We are excited to announce that Datalystica will be participating in the IAC 2026 in Xi’an, China.

We are exited to share that Datalystica will be represented at an International Aerosol Conference (IAC)! This conference offers a fantastic opportunity to connect with the aerosol research community, and we are looking forward to engaging with fellow source apportionment enthusiasts as well as meeting both new and familiar faces who share our passion for this important field. We strongly believe in the power of collaboration and we are especially eager to hear about the latest developments, challenges, and insights from the community.

We are more than happy to discuss the latest advances in source apportionment and how we implemented those in our software solutions (SoFi Pro, SoFi RT). But just as importantly, we welcome informal conversations and the exchange of ideas. If you are curious about source apportionment or wondering whether it could benefit your project, feel free to stop by and chat with us. Our team will be available throughout the event, you are very much welcomed to visit our booth #A58.

For more information about IAC, including how to attend, visit their website. To schedule a meeting with our team during the event, please contact us at support@datalystica.com.

We look forward to meeting you at IAC 2026 and to exchanging ideas!

Three days of SoFi, PMF, and great discussions

We are happy to share that this year’s SoFi workshop has come to a close after three intensive and highly engaging days.

Participants joined us from across the globe, bringing a wide range of backgrounds and datasets, which made for a particularly dynamic and interactive workshop experience. We started with a structured introduction to source apportionment and Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF), before moving into practical applications within the SoFi software.

Throughout the workshop, participants worked directly with their own datasets, allowing immediate translation of methodological concepts into real analysis workflows. We quickly focused on more advanced PMF strategies and SoFi functionalities, including deeper exploration of modelling choices, diagnostic tools, and interpretation challenges.

Across all three days, the level of engagement was exceptional. The numerous questions, discussions, and hands-on problem solving sessions created a collaborative environment that went well beyond a standard training format. On the last evening, we stepped away from datasets and diagnostics and gathered for a social dinner. It was a relaxed and genuinely fun evening with lots of conversations, laughter, and the kind of discussions that don’t involve Q values or residuals for once.

We would like to thank all participants for their active involvement and great discussions throughout the workshop. We are already looking forward to the next SoFi workshop!

Release of SoFi 10

Last week after the SoFi Users’ Meeting, we released SoFi 10, now fully compatible with Igor Pro 10. At the moment the functionality is still the same as SoFi 9, but now everything runs smoothly in the updated Igor environment.

With the release of SoFi 10, we will discontinue the support of SoFi 8 during the coming year. We encourage everybody to upgrade to either Igor 9 or Igor 10 to ensure full compatibility with the latest features and ongoing development.

As always, you can download the newest SoFi version from our download section, and as always, we’re happy to hear your feedback!

SoFi workshop 2026

We are happy to invite you to an in-person SoFi workshop in Baden, Switzerland, taking place 13–15 April 2026.

The workshop introduces the theoretical foundations of PMF and shows how these ideas can be applied in SoFi. The focus is on learning by doing: participants are encouraged to bring their own datasets (or work with provided examples) and apply PMF step by step to questions that are directly relevant to their work.

The format is interactive and beginner-friendly, with plenty of room for questions, discussion, and guided hands-on sessions.

SoFi Users’ Meeting 2026

We are happy to announce our next virtual SoFi Users’ Meeting, taking place 9./10. February 2026.

Join us to explore the latest SoFi updates and features and share your own experiences and results with the community. The meeting offers a space for discussion, user presentations, and exchange of practical tips, making it a great opportunity to learn from others and get inspired for your own work.

The event is online and free to attend, welcoming both new and experienced users.
